Heather Latham is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner at SouthCoast Health working with both pediatric and adult populations. After graduating with high honors from Frontier Nursing University out of Hyden, KY, (2013), she pursued her passion for rural medicine and held a family practice in a critical access hospital, providing primary care to underserved families outside Olympia, WA. She then followed her husband, LTC Adam Latham, to Fort Stewart, GA where he is prepositioned to take command of 5/7 Cavalry Squadron in spring of 2019.
Before returning to school to pursue Advanced Practice Nursing, , Heather spent over eight years as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a cardiovascular ICU , earning Critical Care specialty certification (CCRN) in 2010, and in outpatient Cardiology and fertility specialties. Heather graduated Cum Laude from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, first in 2005 with Associate of Science and then in 2009 with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.
Heather is currently an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and a consultant to the Family Readiness Group for her husband’s unit. She and her husband of 15 years have 12 year old boy/girl twins and a 7 yr old girl. The Latham Family plans to call Richmond Hill their permanent home when their 20 years as an Army family comes to an end.
