Dr. Julio Cortes practices internal medicine at SouthCoast Health Primary Care in Savannah. He received a Doctor of Medicine degree at Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and a Medical Associate’s degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Cortes completed a residency in internal medicine at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, and received additional training at the Clinical Training-Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, and St. Vincent Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Dr. Cortes is the recipient of several distinguished honors and awards. He has been recognized by the Consumer’s Research Council of America as one of America’s Top Physicians in 2008, 2010, and 2012; a lifetime member of Strathmore’s Who’s Who Registry for Outstanding Professionals; and Memorial Health Partners 2011 Distinguished Quality Physician, among other honors.
