SouthCoast Health’s Hypertension Blood Pressure Clinic, the region’s first and only hypertension clinic, helps patients lower their blood pressure that is not easily controlled.

As a high risk of heart disease, hypertension can exist for many years in an individual without any warning signs or symptoms. Our clinic is devoted to educating, preventing and treating hypertension. Headed by Dr. Garrett White, this clinic provides:

• Collaboration with a nurse practitioner, a pharmacist, a nurse educator, and a dietician to address all of the aspects that affect hypertension and control its outcomes.
• Understanding the effects of the new high blood pressure guidelines announced at the American Heart Association conference in November 2017.
• Individualized patient treatment to lower blood pressure concentrating on lifestyle changes with fewer medications by identifying diet and exercise programs that may help to lower blood pressure and improve health and energy levels.
• Treatment plan options to help patients with severe or uncontrollable hypertension. 
• Educating our patients on the latest research on controlling high blood pressure, so we are able to help our patients improve their treatment.
• A holistic screening of our patients to see if other conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol and coronary heart disease can be affecting a patient’s hypertension.
