While Dr. William Knight grew up with an interest in science, it wasn’t until his high school years at Savannah Christian Preparatory School that he decided to fully explore that passion. He volunteered at the Community Health Mission in Savannah and became hooked on helping those in in need.
Following high school, Dr. Knight received his undergraduate degree from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He journeyed back here to his hometown to obtain his Doctor of Medicine from the Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, Georgia. Finally, Dr. Knight completed his residency in Family Medicine at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
It was Dr. Knight’s interest in working with family dynamics that helped make this choice in specialty.
“I love taking care of all ages,” Dr. Knight explained. “It’s such a fulfilling thing to be able to address every family member’s health problems and better their lives.”
Dr. Knight loves making a difference in people’s lives. Whether it be through fixing a health problem or by instilling positive habits that can make a difference later down the road, this physician is ready for the challenge.
In particular, Dr. Knight believes wholeheartedly that a part of his job as a physician is to give back to the community and provide healthcare to those who need it the most. His experience resonates this sound belief with the numerous places he has volunteered around the world. Dr. Knight continues to give any spare time available to help those who can’t afford to regularly visit the doctor’s office and has no plans to stop that habit anytime soon.
“The doctors I volunteered with made a huge impact in my life. Because of them, I’m always looking for ways to give back to the community,” Dr. Knight said.
When not at the office, Dr. Knight loves to spend time outdoors. Cycling, camping, hiking, and going to the beach are a few of his favorite hobbies.More Reviews
