SouthCoast Health pediatric nurse practitioner Ashley Adams recently appeared on WTOC’s Morning Break to discuss graduation stress and the emotional pressures many teens experience as they prepare for life after high school.
During the segment, Ashley explained how uncertainty surrounding college plans, entering the workforce, and future responsibilities can leave graduating students feeling overwhelmed during what is often expected to be an exciting milestone.
Ashley also emphasized the importance of open communication between parents and teens, encouraging families to create supportive spaces where students feel comfortable discussing their fears, anxieties, and future plans.
As conversations around teen mental health continue to grow, Ashley noted that today’s students may be more willing to openly express feelings of stress and uncertainty during major life transitions.
